Sony Vegas – Changing clip speed
Friday, October 22nd, 2010 HOW DO I SPEED UP / SLOW DOWN CLIPS?
It’s easy. In Sony Vegas, move your cursor to the end of your video/audio clip. Now, hold CTRL. While holding CTRL, your cursor image should change and have a squiggly line under a rectangle.
- To slow down clips, drag (while still holding CTRL) your clip to the right (–>) as if you were making the clip longer, but in fact, you are decreasing the frames per second.
- To Speed up clips, drag (while still holding CTRL) your clip to the left (<–) as if you were making the clip shorter, but in fact, you are increasing the frames per second.
MY AUDIO AND VIDEO ARE BOTH AFFECTED BUT I WANT ONLY ONE TO BE CHANGED?
This is common. You may try to slow down your video but not your audio, but in Sony Vegas it slows down both. This is because they are grouped together.
- To Only Change One, click on the video/audio clip, press “U” on your keyboard. They are now ‘un-grouped’ and you can change them and move them freely!
