Avid – change speed of audio clip

Thursday, April 19th, 2012

Edit the clip  into the timeline.  Park the blue position indicator on it, and enable the tracks with the clip(s) on them.  Open AudioSuite (Tools>AudioSuite), and then select Time Compression/Expansion from the drop down menu.  In the effect editor, there’s a slider you can move back and forth to make the audio longer or shorter (not in front of a machine, so I can’t remember the exact name of it).  Render the effect and play it back and see how that sounds.  If it’s too fast or slow, adjust the slider to make it slower or faster.

good luck,

Avid – copy paste effects

Wednesday, April 18th, 2012

Park on the clip that has the BCC Witness effect on it and open your Effect Editor. Drag the Effect Icon either directly from the effect editor to the next clip you want it on, or drag it to your bin to save it. If you drag it to your bin to save it, just drag it from the bin to the next clip(s) you want it on and it will apply.

If you have several nested, drag one to your bin, step in, drag the next one to your bin. Apply them to the next clips in the same order as they are on the first clip. Done!
